Izipho Zomphakathi Multiskills is a community organisation since 2009 dedicated to helping people
and communities especially kids learn empowering technology and software skills in particular youth
from disadvantaged public schools from grade 8. We conduct our programmes through entervention of
capacity building workshops and instructor led classes in computer and enterprise skills development.
The organisation is currently self sustaining its operations, service offering through provision of
business communication services and consultancy to the public and private sector. We do seek interested
sponsors and donations to reinforce the impact of our programme implementation to run smoothly and
to reaches most of our beneficiaries
Izipho Zomphakathi Multiskills as a community college has committed itself (i.e. skills and training facilities)
to social upliftment and human development initiatives of women and youth over the past 3 years.
Traditionally, we have channelled our programmes primarily into five priority areas:
- Education, with a particular focus on mathematics, science and technology education
- Life skills, Business development, by investing in business initiatives that promote the
sustainable creation of employment, particularly for unskilled, marginalised groups such as women and youth;
- Business support and referrals center
- Critical Thinking Methods using (Maths and Science) for adopted Primary, High and Secondary schools.
- Business Process Management and Development cooperatives from adopted Primary, High and Secondary schools.
Izipho's strategic Social programmes in South Africa
Our organisation understand the value of social programme that are strategically linked to the
development needs at communities. Recognising the many pressing social priorities in South Africa,
and with due regard to the nature of our activities, our Social programmes
in the country focuses on five priority areas: education; Life skills and welfare
of youth (both boys and girls) educating them on substance abuse, and Teenage pregnancy;
Business development;; and Business referral ,Critical Thinking (Maths and Science) and Business mentorships.
A brief summary of some of Izipho's key initiatives in South Africa over the last 10 years is provided below.
Education Recognising the importance of mathematics, science and technology education as the basis for a sound economy,
as well as the need to develop a talent pool from which to draw future employees, our major focus has been on building capacity,
transferring skills and providing resources to learners and educators in the fields of science, mathematics,
managing Information technology. Through our social programme in these areas, we provide high computer facilities and infrastructure
from basic materials and classrooms in our community and surrounding areas for the development of advanced ICT and Project Management
skills for the women and youth; Conduct classes for primary, higher and secondary starting a business projects by providing
learning classes, tuition and educator development programmes.
